Emergency procedures

The University of Louisville strives to keep operations and business running smoothly. Natural and man-made emergencies can happen at any time and the University must be prepared to take action in the event of an emergency. The Department of Environmental Health and Safety, Police, and other supporting departments continually develop processes and procedures to respond to emergencies.   www.santafedesignstudio.com/facilities/emergency-preparedness.

Earthquake preparedness information  

Do you know what to do in an earthquake? This year, the Department of Emergency Management is encouraging students to arm themselves with earthquake preparedness information. Apparel orders for Doctoral Hooding Ceremony 

Cap and gown orders must be placed by November 10 for any student planning to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on December 16. Learn more and place your order online at uofl.me/doctoral-commencement.

PH track in Social Justice & Health Equity

The Passport Place is now open

SAVE THE DATE for the International Center Open House and Passport Place Ribbon Cutting on November 3, 3–5 p.m. The Passport Place at the University of Louisville is now open and accepting applications. 16th Annual Anne Braden Memorial Lecture 

Join us this Thursday, Nov 3 at 6 p.m. in Middleton Auditorium. This year's lecturer, Dr. Imani Perry, will discuss democracy and the South in the spirit of her most recent book, South to America: A Journey Below the Mason Dixon to Understand the Soul of a Nation. AAPI Fall Expo 

The AAPI Faculty and Staff Association and Asian Pacific Student Union are collaborating to bring the first AAPI Fall Expo, featuring AAPI-owned food vendors, non-profits, and performances. Let's celebrate our first-generation students 

The Student Success Center and TRIO Student Support Services will host a celebration event on campus for the National First-Generation College Celebration on November 8. Enjoy our First-Gen Social Hour with music, food, and networking amongst our first-gen faculty, staff, and students from 4:30–5:45 p.m. SAC MPR. AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS

Apply for MAGS Research Award

The Multicultural Association of Graduate Students is giving out research awards up to $500 to help offset the costs of presenting at a conference, research travel, and certain research supplies. Learn more and apply online by November 7.

2023 Cardinal Awards

Each year the University of Louisville bestows an award on two outstanding undergraduate seniors.  This award is granted based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, service to the community, contributions to the university, as well as an interview by a panel of judges. To be eligible, applicants must be an undergraduate senior student, have completed at least 90 credit hours, and be graduating in December 2022 or May 2023. All applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The application can be found on Engage. Deadline for application is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8.

The Men's Rugby Club will face Ohio University this Saturday afternoon at Hays/Kennedy Park. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. Come check out the nationally top-ranked Cardinal Ruggers as they face the Bobcats in an important conference matchup. Admission is free and open to all.

On Nov. 9, Campus Recreation is hosting their annual 5k your way event. We encourage you to complete a 5K (3.1 miles)—any form of exercise that feels comfortable for you. $10 student tickets to Ballet

$10 Student Rush tickets are available for Louisville Ballet's Celebrating Alun performances on November 4 & 5 at Whitney Hall, The Kentucky Center. Tickets are available one hour before show at the theater box office or by calling 502-583-2623. To claim, students must show their student ID. The student rush rate is limited to 2 tickets per ID.
 

ASK THE ADVOCATE

Q. I need to withdraw from classes, but the withdrawal deadline has passed. What should I do? 

A. Each college at UofL has a process in which you may petition for a late withdrawal. Speak with your Academic Advisor or contact the Student Advocate at advocate@www.santafedesignstudio.com or (502) 852-5787 to discuss your options and learn about your college’s process.
