Hazing and Initiation Activities 

The term hazing means the engagement, encouragement, or facilitation, by any organization or by any individual on behalf of an organization or group (recognized or not recognized by the university), or visitor within the University of Louisville community in any action or situation which recklessly or intentionally endangers mental or physical health; creates an atmosphere of servitude; involves dangerous, demeaning, or ridiculing activities; involves forced consumption of alcohol, drugs, or other objects; for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition of continued membership in, a group or organization. Drug-Free Schools and Communities Amendment Act of 1989 

As a requirement of the Federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Amendment Act, the University of Louisville is responsible for compiling and ensuring the distribution and receipt of the University’s policies, sanctions, and resources regarding alcohol and other drug (AOD) use to all students on a yearly basis.  Questions about this policy and/or alcohol and other drug use, programs, or interventions should be directed to the Dean of Students Office at dos@www.santafedesignstudio.com or (502) 852-5787. www.santafedesignstudio.com/dos/students/drug-free-schools-and-communities-act

Earthquake preparedness information 

Do you know what to do in an earthquake? This year, the Department of Emergency Management is encouraging students to arm themselves with earthquake preparedness information. Need a proctor? Testing Services, in Davidson Hall, can proctor make-up exams for you if you are absent during a test!   • Workshopping the CV 
    This workshop will introduce you to the basics of effective CV writing and provide an opportunity to receive feedback about your own CV.   • Communication tips for success in grad school 
    Graduate education is different than undergraduate education in many different ways, including expectations and norms in communicating.   • How to "Elevator Pitch" 
    Whether you’re riding in an elevator with members of a job search committee or giving a short talk walking around campus, you’ll need to be prepared to talk about your areas of expertise. Q. Is there a place to get medical care on campus?

A. Campus Health Services is located at Cardinal Station (by the baseball stadium) and provides basic primary care services, insurance advocacy, and more! Additionally, Campus Health provides assistance with mental health, sexual health and contraception, health education through the Health Promotion Office, alcohol education and recovery support through BRICC, and support for students dealing with power-based violence, like stalking, sexual assault, or intimate personal violence through PEACC. There is a special food pantry for UofL students, faculty, and staff who are in need. The Commonwealth Credit Union Cardinal Cupboard is located in the SAC in room W312 and is open 5 days a week (Monday–Friday) from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 24–26).
