ULPD would like to remind our students we are continuing to work diligently to reduce crime and the fear of crime on and around campus. Our officers are continuing high visibility patrols and I encourage you to approach them with any questions or concerns you may have at any time. I would also like to thank you for caring about your safety and the safety of your fellow students. Chalking PolicyChalking is permitted only on sidewalks using light colored chalk in open, horizontal areas to allow for eventual removal by rainfall. Do not chalk under an overhang on the buildings, the side of a building or under ramps. Chalking is not permitted directly in front of doorways or on stairs to the building. Chalking is also not permitted on the sidewalks around the Speed Art Museum and within 50 feet of any of the Residence Halls. The use of industrial chalk, spray chalk or paint on sidewalks or buildings is prohibited. Veterans Affairs education benefitsThe system used to certify VA educational benefits is shutting down February 24. We will be unable to certify VA educational benefits between Feb 24–Mar 6. Complete your request for VA education benefits certification in ULink by February 23. ACADEMICSPhD in Health Management & PolicyThe PhD in Health Management & Policy prepares students for careers as researchers and teachers involved in the efforts to protect and promote the health and well- being of communities and populations. Summer Research Opportunity ProgramThe Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) provides University of Louisville undergraduate students with an intensive 10-week, 35 hour per week, research experience with a faculty member in any discipline. The program this year will run from May 30 to August 4, 2023. Students will receive a stipend of $3,500 for the 10 weeks, and faculty mentors will receive $500 to support the student's scholarly activities. Deadline to submit applications is March 13, 2023.
